MOSAIC KIDS

Children are essential to the mission. Whether or not you have children of your own, we believe God calls you to care for and shepherd the next generation. Read about our vision for kids in our neighborhood and at our church:

Sunday Kids Church

Ages 0 - 6
We believe the purpose of a Sunday kids ministry is to create a space for children to experience a loving body of believers, Biblical teaching, and worship, on a level that is accessible to them.

Who Teaches Kids Church?

We do!
People who teach or volunteer in Kids Church are active members in Mosaic. We ask all Missional Community members to commit to serving in Kids Church throughout the year. Children are members of our church, and we greatly value their presence and believe this discipleship is important. Volunteers have undergone a background check and are SafeKids Safety trained.

What do you do?

Two Classrooms --
In the younger classroom, children will play, listen to a Bible story, eat a snack, and sing songs. In the older classroom, children will play, be taught a Bible lesson, do an activity to go along with the lesson, eat a snack, and sing songs. We use the Gospel Project curriculum in the older classroom.

What about older kids?

Ages 7 & up
Right now, we have two classrooms. One for children ages 0-2 and one for children ages 3-6. As we grow, it's possible we may add another class - but we're a small church! For now, we have capacity for two classes. If your child is 7 or older and would prefer activities during the service, please feel free to use the "Kids Activity Bags" at the back of the sanctuary. They include clipboards, Gospel Project printouts, crayons, and coloring sheets.

FAQS

DO YOU HAVE A FORMAL "CHILDREN'S MINISTRY" WITH A PAID STAFF MEMBER?
No, we do not. Kids Church is volunteer-run and will most likely stay that way for the foreseeable future! We do use the Gospel Project curriculum in our older class and for the Kids Activity bags in the sanctuary.

WHERE DOES CHILDREN'S DISCIPLESHIP HAPPEN?
We believe children's discipleship happens when kids are integrated with adults, when adults are integrated into the community, and when parents are equipped to engage their children. We have many dreams and hopes for how children will be discipled in our church and in this neighborhood, and we're working out how this will look month after month!

WHAT IS THE CHECK-IN PROCESS ON SUNDAYS?
On your first Sunday as a visitor, you will go into the prayer chapel to the side of the sanctuary when children are dismissed. A volunteer will enter your information into our system. After your information is uploaded to our system, you will go to the "check in kiosk" in the hallway. Type in the last 4 digits of your phone number and your family's information will pop up. Click on which child you'd like to check in. The system will print a name badge with a specific code - one for you and one for your child. You will need to present this coded name tag when you pick up your child. After you get your name tags, you can walk your child to his or her classroom.

DO MOSAIC VOLUNTEERS CHANGE DIAPERS?
Volunteers do not change diapers. Parents are contacted for a diaper change if a child has a poopy diaper. Parents are not contacted for wet diapers.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY OLDER CHILD IS STRUGGLING TO STAY IN THE SERVICE?
If your child is struggling during the service, first of all - please know it is totally fine! Kids are kids, and kid sounds are welcome in the sanctuary. However, if you feel your older child would prefer to go to a classroom as a helper, he or she is welcome to do so. We just ask that an adult in your family accompany him or her as an extra set of hands. As we grow, we hope to add more classrooms. But right now, we can only accommodate for children up to 6 years old unless an extra adult comes to help out too.
